Birthday treats by mail and the Promise Trail!
Guess what? If you missed the chance to treat your Valentine to candy-shaped cards and bits and clues of the Promise Trail, don't despair!  You can use this same great idea for any birthday or anniversary. Make it a 9 or 10 day long affair, so that when the actually day arrives, your partner is humming with wonderful anticipation of what the grand finale will be.  So let the loving keep on coming. Be creative. Have fun. Be in love and show it!
Valentines Mailbox Ideas and a Promise Trail

Valentines by mail.....hmmmm.   Seems obsolete in this day and time when e-cards are  super easy and Cupid Day apps are quicker than lightning.  But why not surprise your valentine or valentines with a series of cards by mail?  You've heard of the twelve days of Christmas. Well, we've got about nine days before February 14, so let's call it the Nine Days of Valentine's. Get a box of those heart-happy, "I love you," "Will you be mine?" "XXXOOO" greeting cards and each day, drop one in the mail to your "Sweetheart," "Sugar Lump," "Better Half--or Worse."  Imagine what it will be like for him or her to get one of these in the mail every day.  And delivery will probably overlap beyond the 14th.  E-cards and apps are easy but  why not go for the unique?

Or you might like this British tale of blood-stained ribbons and hearts and other favorite things: The Saint Valentine's Day Murders.  Yikes!  Enough of that.
Shifting back to our wine and roses mindset, another way to show the one you love how special he or she is during the Valentine's season is to hide a little love surprise in the car, the purse or wherever you can get away with it. This need not be an expensive endeavor at all. In Florida, Big Lots offers any number of  Valentine's gifts for a dollar or less that can be nicely hidden and discovered at just the right moment. You can also create a Promise Trail. Each day along with each little gift, include a written clue to a promise that will be fulfilled on Valentine's day.  Make sure it's a promise worth waiting for and one that your lover will definitely want you to keep!  Happy Valentine's Day to all.
